With Tier III emission compliant engines in all Hyundai Robex-9 models, the new machine is expected to deliver superior fuel consumption over the dash-7 models, along with improved durability in the hydraulics and track gear.
Forestry-size machines are all powered by Cummins engines, with the R210LC-9, R250LC-9 and R290LC-9 gaining the Cummins QSB6.7 engine. The R320LC-9 and R380LC-9 take the 8.3-litre power plant, while the 50-tonne R500LC-9 will arrive later in the year with the latest Cummins 11-litre unit (this machine is suitable for heavy-duty road lining work).
The Robex-9 models are equipped with a more advanced hydraulic system providing the high cycle speed of the dash-7 machines and precision control. The new hydraulic system contributes to the lower fuel consumption, with flow rates able to be adjusted by the operator via the cluster display. Both pump flows can be combined for maximum flow without the addition of any optional valves. The Joystick 4 pattern change valve is a standard feature.
Extended service intervals through the use of higher spec oils and filtration systems further aid in lowering service and maintenance costs. Intervals between servicing have been extended, which not only helps add to the customer’s bottom line but also makes the new Hyundai equipment more environmentally friendly.
All new Robex-9 models are equipped with Hi-mate, Hyundai’s remote satellite communication system which will enable the owner/fleet manager to have remote access to all machine operating information. The system utilises GPS technology to allow the machine’s performance and diagnostic information to be remotely downloaded. The first two years subscription to the local service provider will be included in the machine purchase price.
The new cab in the Robex-9 has a larger interior coupled with a larger glass surface for better visibility. The new large 7-inch LCD display has a wider range of functions and better ergonomics. The cab structure has been strengthened and complies with the same ISO safety standards as other major competitors.
One feature operators will find very useful, is that cell phones can be plugged into the cab stereo system for hands free use and a USB charging facility is available.
